About Aahuti
Hi, I am Aahuti Sejpal. You will probably see me on Instagram posting about travel and vegetarian food or in restaurants trying new (and sometimes weird) food items or simply just traveling in some part of the world.
Professionally, I am a psychology major, business grad and social media consultant.
It has taken me nearly a year to start this blog. I had never seriously considered it until 2020 hit us in the most unexpected ways and I was locked down in one of the most affected cities in the world when the pandemic was officially announced. I was in Madrid when things started to go downhill and how.
2019 – I was having the time of my life in Spain where I was busy getting my master’s degree in Digital Business, traveling, meeting new people and basically just “living the life”.
2020 – I was still in Madrid interning remotely with a sustainable travel startup, occasionally taking day trips or weekend trips until COVID19 hit. I spent 80 days in Madrid locked down alone. This is also when I wrote my first article sharing my 30 day experience living by myself in a city that was on red alert during the pandemic. You can read all about it here.
I got back to my home in Mumbai in June 2020 on a special evacuation flight and since then I have been living in India with my family.
2020 has been a hell of an emotional and physical ride for me but this has only made me stronger. It has also led to me to take the plunge and start this blog.
I have been wanting to combine my passion for travel and food since I was 17. Starting a blog was not really at the top of my list. I wanted to share my passion for travel with others in some way but I wasn’t too confident writing about it. It is only during the lockdown that I started to seriously think about it and after 6 months of research on starting a blog, here I am.
My parents took me on my first flight when I was six and I haven’t looked back ever since. I took my first solo trip when I was 17 to Spiti, Himachal Pradesh. I caught the travel bug then which led me to travel to multiple places either alone, with friends or with family.
After working for over 2 years with travel starts up in India and Spain and traveling to more than 28 countries and living in 3 of them as a vegetarian, I am now ready and excited to share my experiences and knowledge that I have gained during my travels with you.
I hope you enjoy reading all about it from the eyes of a vegetarian traveler as much as I enjoyed writing them for you and plan to continue doing so.
Salud!
